Broken Heart, Mended Fences

(I've decided that if I have time, I'm going to do a little blurb on my most recent - and past - designs to showcase everything.)

I was contacted by Rebekah a little while back about doing her blog.  She had purchased the design kit she had been searching for back in May and had every intention of designing herself, until she found that she didn't have the capability to do so.  Somehow, she came across my site and thought that I could complete her vision.

I'll be honest, when I saw the design kit she wanted to use, and the specifics of what she wanted, I was nervous.  She paid the deposit, and so I HAD to do it!  I was nervous that I couldn't do what she wanted.  That I didn't have the same vision or something.  I don't know.  (I think this also has to do with the fact that I was having a bad week, anyway.)  Eventually, I finally got around to playing with it.  After I sent my preliminary design, she LOVED it!  She went on and on about how great it was and that it was perfect.  So we continued on.  It was a huge relief for her to love it.

Rebekah and her husband had a little boy (Jackson Jeffrey) who was born premature at 22 weeks last year.  He was alive for 25 minutes, and then they sent him on to Heaven.  Rebekah wanted a place where she could keep his memory on.  She also wanted a place to do giveaways, recipes, and everything in between.  She also lives by a farm, so she loved the idea of the sheep and wanting to incorporate those.  So here's the header that I came up with:

Within this whole design there are hidden meanings, which just turned out to be coincidence in most cases.

We decided to use some of her favorite elements in the sidebars as well -

This was definitely a challenge.  But, I built confidence in my ability to do some new things.  The best part is that my client loves it.  Rebekah was so easy to work with and it was great seeing her vision come alive.  She and I have quite a bit in common, and it was great how we were brought together to share those things.

Go check out her site!

  1. You took my vision and made it into reality. I couldn't have done this without you and I don't think anyone else would have understood. I would recommend you in a heartbeat!

I can't imagine how you were hesitant with the design, all I can say is I'm glad you followed through with it because you were over the top! (hugs)

Love to you my newfound friend!
